The more science I study, the more it strengthens my faith in God and a divine creation.

A beautiful book on this is "The Science of God," by Gerald Schroeder. He gives an excellent Jewish perspective of how the Bible and the fossil record and scientific discoveries are highly compatible and support each other.

Peace and serenity...separation from the world...a time to reflect. I love the temple, the kindness of those who serve there, and the spirit I feel while there and after. I wish I could bottle it because I don't get there enough. Lesson to me. And some wonder why we want to share our knowledge with the world! We are so blessed to be close enough to the temple to serve...temples which have been part of worship in Christ's true church always.

Thank you for sharing you experience, pornography and sexual addictions are always the "elephant in the room" and I am so grateful for women who have the courage to stand up and bring their struggles, their journey to forgiveness, and their newfound strengths to light.

Stephanie and strugglingwithin,

We wanted to be sure you know that your comments are received and are being read. But we also want to be sure you can get the help and support you need and I worry that it will be hard to get here as we have other content that pushes this thread further into the archives. Please continue to feel free to comment, but I just wanted to share a few resources that I hope might be helpful, too.

I'd like to encourage you both to consider signing up for the support group that Sara, one of the contributors in our recent <a href="http://mormonwoman.org/2011/01/30/pornography-addiction-personal-stories-index/ rel="nofollow">series, moderates. She says it is a place where women can get support and can sort through the struggles and ask questions from other women who have walked this difficult path. You can find that private support group here.

We'd also encourage you to consider finding a 12-step support group where you live. That's been a consistent thing that our contributors found was very helpful in facing their spouse's pornography addiction. You might also find a guidebook for loved ones of addicts helpful. You can find one here, or another version here (username is "family" and password is "support").

My heart goes out to you with what you are dealing with. I pray you can find the peace you seek and the guidance you need to know how to face this challenge and find healing.

Again, please know your comments are welcome here anytime; I just wanted to invite you to avail yourself of other places you can go, too, as you sort through all of this.

~Michelle

Michelle ~ I know. How do we make this a year-long spirit instead of a seasonal one? I used to have some frustration with resolutions at the New Year because I looked at it as sort of wiping Christmas away -- Christmas is over, let's start fresh. Maybe that was a cynical approach. Ok, it was. People aren't thinking that, but when Christmas is over each year, there seems to be a kind of sadness for me and people always seemed so ready to move on with their new goals. That morning while I was running, I realized that if we have the right spirit about it, it actually is quite appropriate to start fresh with new goals in mind for the New Year -- in fact, that may be carrying on the true essence of Christmas (on some level anyway). How do we make this year-long and not have it fade only weeks later? I don't know. But it's my personal quest, I suppose, to figure out how to do that for myself this year.:)
